Linda Linda LindaLinda Blair, who was barely five when she was born, needed been conditioned to be on the radar. At first, as a child model and later as an actor, she got the part of Regan the possessed girl among 600 hopefuls, in The Exorcist, (1973). Linda Blair rose quickly to fame and won her first Golden Globe. She was scheduled to be awarded the Academy Award. But when it was revealed that certain of her parts were dubbed and that a stunt dummy acted for 8 seconds in the movie, the dream went down the drain. Through the years she was able to secure the lead role in a range of films, among them the wildly successful television series Born Innocent (1974) (the #1 TV movie of that year) and Sarah T. - Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic (1975) along with an Exorcist sequel Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977). They arrested her and gave her three years of probation following the pressure of her friends forced her to buy cocaine when she turned age 18. This highly-publicized drug bust led Linda to be blacklisted by Hollywood as well as her professional film career soon slowed down to B-movies with occasional guest appearances only
