In America, the early performing arts accomplishments of young Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely be in the prodigy child category. For a child with Irish roots, surrounded as she was by gifted parents, and her family, this came naturally. Maureen was welcomed into the family-oriented home on the 17th of August 20 in Ranelagh. Marguerita FitzSimons was a gifted contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based firm and also owned a stake of "The Shamrock Rovers" a renowned Irish soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons is the 2nd FitzSimons child. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen was a natural athlete and enjoyed playing tough sports. Her natural interest and her talent for performing was remarkable. This was apparent when she won every Feis for drama and theater the Irish had to provide. The Abbey Theater was her first choice. Abbey Theater by age 14 as she was able to fulfill her goals of opera as well as classical theatre and singing.
